Jake has been receiving OT therapy since the age of 3. His upper body strength has always been weak and inner balance off center. Initially I enrolled Jake on suggestion from his school principal and teacher. It was recommended for him to increase focus, attention and learn respect. Jake has tried every sport from baseball to tennis and gave up. Today he is a high green belt in Tae Kwon Do and can do 10 push ups. His focus has increased along with strength and endurance. He looks forward to class and obtaining a new belt. Jake even tries new things instead of refusing because it's something unknown. Thank you Master Kimmel and Fierce Dragon Martial Arts!

I searched for a very long time for a martial arts school for my daughter while she was young. I felt it was very important for her because unlike any other sport it incorporates so much into a young child. Aside from the fitness, self defense & so many other skills taught - I was aiming towards finding a school that would help with self control, respect & everyday morality. At this time I was also seeing a doctor who thought my daughter was borderline ADHD and thought she could use a small dose of medicine. I did not want to start her on medicine, as I did not want to "zombie" her personality & decided to give her time to mature with support from family, school & a sport.

I never even got past the one week trial, in every school I tried, because all of the masters gave up on my daughter. I became increasingly frustrated, but I did not GIVE UP, as I learned from my master, so I decided to give him a call for help.

He told me it's very hard to find a school you are looking for because there are so many now that just teach traditional ways and do not take on the individual difficulties children face in today's world. They just do not know how to form "relationship teaching" with each child which is most important. He said he would find someone in NY for me, he did and it was okay. My daughter didn't love it, she called the master mean, but we continued. Despite the very high tuition, I felt it was helping her in many ways but she still seemed very frustrated coming out of class & was not making a real connection with the master.

Then I met Master Kimmel! Sydney was 7 years old and was still suffering from using her massive amount of energy negatively along with other issues. It took me less than a week of watching him teach that I just felt he would not give up on my daughter. I called my master & left him a message that I found a master named Michael Kimmel. He called me back to tell me of Master Kimmel's background and his exact words were, "genius combination in this man, a master with a teaching degree - THAT is VERY uncommon - I can almost guarantee he will succeed with anyone, including your daughter!" I didn't even know he was a public school teacher yet.

My daughter is now almost 13 years old. Having been involved deeply with martial arts myself and then with my daughter I can truly attest to the fact that Master Kimmel is very unique. He has brought new and very effective techniques into martial art training due to his persona that is successfully phenomenal with all children as he targets and individualizes each and every one of his students needs, not just to achieve in martial arts but to conquer so many things children lack such as confidence, discipline, shyness, respect & the belief in themselves that they can do anything! I've seen this in so many of his students that I know since they are young, not just my own. He has dramatically turned my daughter into a dedicated, hard working child. Her grades in school have improved to honors from the self-belief & focal point techniques he has instilled in her. He creates a VERY fun training environment which is a difficult task due to the obedience and structure he needs to maintain. Everyone in his academy feels like family. He has given my daughter endless motivation with his methods that she really needed and after almost six years his training, she has never once called him mean, not only respects him but truly loves him & wants to still run with him and not the streets!!

Sydney uses almost all of her energy positively now! I can truly say he has been the "medicine" that doctor said my daughter may have needed.
